As July is coming to a close, it is time for me to start thinking about going back to school. This is the time of year I reflect on how I want this year to go and what I want to accomplish. For my 10th year, I want to keep a few Bible verses in my heart, remember them when the hard days happen, and refer back to them as often as I can. So, I made myself a list of Bible verses for teachers and I thought I might them with share with you.

The word of God is like a seed. Plant it in your heart.

List of Bible Verses for Teachers (CSB)

  1. Galatians 6:9 Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.
  2. Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
  3. Philippians 4:13 I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.
  4. Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with my eye on you, I will give counsel.
  5. Colossians 3:16-17 Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
  6. Titus 2:7-8 … in everything. Make yourself an example of good works with integrity and dignity in your teaching. Your message is to be sound beyond reproach, so that any opponent will be ashamed, because he doesn’t have anything bad to say about us.
  7. 1 Peter 4:10 Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
  8. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
  9. Luke 12:12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what must be said.
  10. Romans 12:6-7 According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith; if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching
Bonus Verse: Matthew 5:16 - In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

If I had to Pick a Favorite from the List?

If I had to pick a favorite from the list, I think it would be 1 Corinthians 15:18. It encourages me to keep going, no matter how difficult and that I do not labor in vain.

I am doing God’s work by showing Jesus to all my students. I do have a purpose for my life and that is to be the best teacher I can, so that I can glorify God!

Why Keep Bible Verses in Your Heart when Teaching?

Keeping these verses close allows me to be strong in my faith and trust God when I’m having a bad day at school. They encourage me to keep going and are a reminder that I’m doing what God has called me to do. They also remind me that God is in control of every situation and if I give it to Him, I don’t have to worry about it!
