Is the AP Computer Science A curriculum digital?
Before scrolling down, I wanted to answer this question immediately. …YES! Most resources are digital, and can be used with the Google Suite and Canvas! (So you can download/upload them.)
The most important reason for the AP Computer Science Curriculum?
Well, of course, it would be to save yourself time and be more efficient! But there are other reasons as well.
Save yourself time!
If have many responsibilities outside of teaching, then who has time to make things from scratch? The things outside of school are more important to your mental health than worrying about making curriculum! So use this curriculum, and spend time doing more the things you enjoy!
Students cannot cheat!
If you are new to teaching computer science, the amount of time that you will be spending preparing for the class is substantial, especially if you want to prevent cheating or plagiarism. If you are unfamiliar with the Java language, it is more important to understand the material, and teach it correctly than spend time making resources, when you can get the materials you need. That is where this bundle comes in! So,
But why would you need this if you are an experienced computer science teacher? Good question! … For some students, when they learn a new topic, repetition is key to understanding. Therefore, these could be used as great practice and reinforcement for those students. Also, if you have students who know the Java language already, these could be used for extra credit to keep them busy and to keep them from getting bored. Thirdly, if you are a sponsor of a coding club, then the worksheets could be used as practice for different types of competitions.

No Environment Necessary
A specific programming or coding environment is not necessary. Therefore, these worksheets and resources are meant to not have an environment. So, the answers are more like the handwritten and/or typed AP® questions where students will provide code segments or class definitions that do not require an environment.
However, if you would like to use an environment for your class, I highly prefer Eclipse. But before installing it, you will need to download the Java SDK.
If your students have a Chromebook, the cloud IDE I would recommend is Repl.it because Eclipse will not work on a Chromebook.
